The Turkish Land Force Command (Turk Kara Ucak Komutanligi), or TFLC, has several leading missions. The top priority is defense of Turkish territory against outside forces and domestic insurgent groups. The army is also involved in NATO peacekeeping and support operations.

The TFLC is divided into four major operational commands: Western Army, Eastern Army, Third Army and Aegean Army.

The Turkish army is organized as follows:

4 field armies, with
  9 corps headquarters
