OVERVIEW
The United Arab Emirates Air Force (UAEAF) was created in 1976 through consolidation of the Abu Dhabi Air Force, the United Air Force and the Dubai Police Wing. Sharjah formed its own air wing in 1984. Though nominally an element of the UAEAF, Sharjah's police wing is administered as an autonomous unit.
