OVERVIEW

The Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) is responsible for all air operations. In 2001, the RNZAF lost its A-4 Skyhawk fighters to budget cuts, without replacement, leaving the service without strike capability.

The RNZAF is divided by function into an Operational Group, with two operations wings and a flying training wing.
