OVERVIEW

The air force of the Republic of Korea (RoKAF) is primarily responsible for air-to-air combat and air transport missions. A limited ground attack role is performed by fixed-wing fighter aircraft units but is more often a function of the ROK army and navy, which operate helicopter gunships for ground attack and maritime patrol aircraft for anti-submarine warfare missions.
