OVERVIEW

The Tanzanian Air Force Command (known as the Tanzanian People’s Defense Force Air Wing prior to 2014) is part of a unified command structure, but retains a considerable degree of autonomy. It is organized into:

     3 fighter squadrons
     1 transport squadron
     1 transport helicopter squadron
     1 jet training squadron
     1 basic training squadron
     1 VIP transport unit
