Security forces in northern Nigeria say they have killed nearly 95 bandits and kidnappers, arrested 61 others and recovered over US$1 million in materials over the last two weeks, reports This Day (Lagos).

Nigerian troops claim to have recovered 660,430 gallons (2.5 million liters) of crude oil; 35,353 gallons (133,824 liters) of diesel, 1,849 gallons (7,000 liters) of kerosene; captured one unspecified vessel and 16 tankers; and destroyed 23 illegal oil refineries.

Operation Delta Safe and Operation Octopus Grip in southern Nigeria say that over the past two weeks they had discovered and destroyed 23 illegal refining sites, 87 wooden boats, seven speed boats and 284 storage tanks among other supplies.
