The U.S.-based Rand Corp. has released a report on where China is likely to build its next overseas military base, reports the Stars and Stripes.
The most likely options include Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia and Pakistan, according to the report released on Thursday.
The think tank assessed 108 countries as potential sites for military facilities as China seeks to protect its interests, particularly in the economic field, says the report.
Beijing currently has only one overseas military base, which is in Djibouti.
