Indonesia has chosen Leonardo to supply weapon stations for two new fast patrol boats, reports the Italian defense firm.

Leonardo will supply its 40-mm Marlin 40 remote weapon station for two PC60-class fast patrol boats being built at the PT Caputra Mitra Sejati shipyard.

The deal covers the Independent Line of Sight (ILOS) variant of the turret, which can operate autonomously through a local control console.

The turrets are capable of anti-air and anti-surface defense, with a range of more than 2.5 miles (4 km).

Indonesia purchased four Marlin 40 ILOS systems last year for two PC60 boats and two Teluk Bintuni-class tank landing ships. Further vessels in both classes are planned, said Leonardo.
