Finland is seeking to buy additional portable surface-to-air missiles from the U.S. to bolster its stocks, reports the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

The proposed US$380 million deal covers 350 FIM-92K Stinger missiles, five production verification flight-test FIM-92K missiles and associated technical and logistics support.

The possible sale would improve Finland’s defense and deterrence capabilities, said the agency.

Helsinki plans to acquire the missiles to increase its national stocks.
