Militants Kill 15 Soldiers, Defense Volunteers In East

At least 15 soldiers and civilian defense volunteers have been killed in a militant attack in eastern Burkina Faso, reports Reuters.
The security forces were returning from a supply mission in Gourma province when their vehicle came under attack.
Thirteen soldiers and two civilian Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) were killed in the attack, reported the Anadolu Agency (Turkey).
Another four soldier were injured, and 11 others were missing, according to an army statement.
The military said it deployed reinforcements to the region and had launched a search operation.
This was the second major militant attack in Burkina Faso last week. On Oct. 24, 10 soldiers were killed and 50 injured in an assault on the 14th Combined Arms Regiment in Djibo in northern Burkina Faso.
