The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has successfully launched a satellite carrier missile, reports the state-affiliated Tasnim news agency (Tehran).

On Saturday, the indigenously produced Qaem-100 rocket was successfully launched. The three-stage Qaem-100 can carry satellites weighing up to 180 pounds (80 kg) into orbits up to 310 miles (500 km) above the Earth.

The domestically developed Rafe solid-propellant engine used in the first stage of the rocket operated successfully during the test, officials said.

The Qaem-100 will be used to launch the Nahid satellite produced by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology in the near future.
