The European Union has agreed to new sanctions on several Iranian individuals and entities involved in supplying drones to Russia, reports the Voice of America News.

On Thursday, the Czech presidency of the E.U. announced that the bloc would freeze the assets of three individuals and one entity “responsible for drone deliveries to Russia.”

The E.U. is also prepared to impose additional measures on four previously sanctioned Iranian entities, the presidency said.

The move comes after Russia has stepped up attacks on Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones, reported Reuters. Moscow denies using Iranian drones, while Tehran has denied supplying weapons to Russia.

The E.U. says it has evidence that the systems used in Ukraine originated in Iran.

Shahed Aviation Industries, two generals and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) brigadier general who oversees Iran’s drone program are among those being sanctioned.
