The Turkish army has taken delivery of its first batch of upgraded armored combat vehicles, reports the Defence Blog.

On Thursday, the service took delivery of the first five of 133 ACV-15 vehicles to be upgraded to the ZMA-15 Zirhli configuration.

The ZMA-15 was developed by Turkish firms FNSS, which built the original ACV-15, and Aselsan.

The modernized vehicle features an autonomous turret with a 30-mm cannon; automatic target tracking; laser warning system; close-distance surveillance system; modern cruise system; mine-protected seats; and increased ballistic and anti-mine protection.

These upgrades will extend the service life and survivability of the vehicles.
