HIMARS Launchers, Rockets Sought From U.S.

The U.S. State Dept. has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale of multiple rocket launchers to Lithuania, reports the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
The proposed US$495 million deal covers eight M142 High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers; 36 M30A2 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Alternative Warhead missile pods with insensitive munitions propulsion system (IMPS); 36 M31A2 GMLRS Unitary High-Explosive missile pods; 36 XM403 Extended-Range GMLRS (ER GMLRS) Alternative Warhead missile pods with IMPS; 36 XM404 ER GMLRS unitary pods with IMPS; and 18 M57 Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missile pods.
Also included in the potential sale are M28A2 Low-Cost Reduced-Range Practice Rocket (LCRRPR) pods; International Field Artillery Tactical Data System (IFATDS); battle management system vehicle integration kits; ruggedized laptops; and associated technical and logistics support.
The proposed sale would support Lithuania’s military modernization efforts and promote interoperability with the U.S. and other allies, said the agency.
