Google says its Threat Analyst Group (TAG) has uncovered zero-day vulnerabilities that gave North Korean hackers access to computers in South Korea.

Documents claiming to have information about the deadly crowd crush incident in Itaewon on Oct. 29 used a zero-day vulnerability in Internet Explorer to download remote HTML. This type of attack has been popular since 2017.

The TAG did not find any information indicating what payload North Korean hackers sought to deliver through the hack.

Microsoft patched the Internet Explorer vulnerability on Nov. 8.
