The Navy’s newest aircraft carrier has shown off its capabilities during a multinational exercise in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, reports U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa.

The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group joined six NATO allies for the Silent Wolverine exercise last week, which focused on high-end naval warfare scenarios.

The strike group includes the Ford carrier, cruiser Normandy and the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers McFaul and Thomas Hudner. NATO allies Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Netherlands and Spain also took part.

The exercise tested the ship’s operational readiness and strengthened interoperability with NATO allies, the command said.
