The Electoral Commission of Pakistan disqualified popular ex-prime minister Imran Khan over incorrectly declaring gifts from foreign dignitaries that included watches, a ring and a pair of cufflinks, report Dawn (Karachi).
Khan has denied the Commission’s charges, and his supporters say the charges are motivated by a desire to keep him out of power.
Khan was ousted in April and has been critical of Pakistan’s regime and its military supporters.
