Agreement Signed To Boost Defense Cooperation With Nigeria

The Nigerian and Vietnamese governments have just signed a deal to strengthen defense cooperation, reports This Day (Lagos).

On Sunday, Nigerian Ambassador to Vietnam Hassan Adamu Mamani and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien signed a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation in Hanoi.

Details of the document were not made public.

The event took place as part of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to Vietnam. Osinbajo is the highest-level Nigerian official to visit Vietnam since 2005, noted the Nation (Lagos).

The sides also expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation in areas such as digital economy, telecommunications and agriculture and trade.
