Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) has conducted the maiden flight of its second prototype fighter, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
On Thursday morning, the KF-21 Boromae test aircraft took off from an airbase in Sacheon, about 190 miles (300 km) south of Seoul.
During the 35-minute flight, the jet flew at an average speed of 252 mph (407 kph) before making a successful landing.
The first KF-21 prototype made its maiden flight on July 19.
KAI plans to build four more prototypes for testing through the first half of 2023.
South Korea plans to field 120 KF-21s by 2032 to replace its aging fleets of F-4 and F-5 fighters.
