Israeli troops shot and killed two Palestinians in separate incidents in the West Bank, reports Reuters.
On Wednesday, a Palestinian labor was shot while trying to cross through a breach in a separation fence near Jenin.
The Israeli military said its soldiers followed standard procedure after discovering the suspect vandalizing the fence. The troops treated the man at the scene before he was taken to a hospital.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said he suffered gunshot wounds in his legs. He later died of the injuries.
Separately, a 15-year-old Palestinian was killed during a firefight with Israeli soldiers in Nablus. The Palestinian Health Ministry said the teenager died from shrapnel wounds sustained during the fighting.
However, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, linked to the Fatah movement, claimed he was a member.
The Israeli military did not confirm the teen’s death but said that troops were securing the entrance to Joseph’s Tomb when an improvised explosive device went off, triggering gunfire.
Local media reported that troops were escorting a group of right-wing parliamentarians on a visit to the site at the time.
Clashes between militant groups and Israeli soldiers have become more frequent of late, with more than 100 Palestinians having been killed since the start of the year.
